PAINTERS

Kayla Van Koll

Kayla Van Koll is a painter from Marin County, California, who specializes in watercolor, but also does acrylic and mixed media paintings and illustrations. Through an intuitive approach to color and form she weaves images from both her waking and sleeping dreams. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, music, books, movies, and her own individual experience of consciousness, Kayla aims to express her innermost authentic world. With a background in English literature and a love for stories, her art holds interpretive meaning that hopes to provoke thought in the viewer, and feeling when words fall short. Themes of soul searching, meditation, galactic origins, nature versus technology, extraterrestrial beings, energy and frequency, and feminine embodiment, all inform Kayla's work. A science fiction fairy tale based on real life. Kayla has traveled throughout California and the American West Coast live painting and displaying her artwork since 2019. She is also a professional face painter and body artist in the Bay Area.

Lee Dreamhealer

"From the moment I first decided to learn a bit of painting to contribute to my friend’s communal painting, my journey into the world of art has been an adventure of endless discovery and deep expression. My naturalistic and surrealist techniques blend the influence of every guide and teacher who has inspired me. The dreamscape work is a blend of bright abstract technicolor worlds with different layers of spray paint, puffy paint, and 3D elements, through which I strive to transform canvas, wood boards and even clay sculptures into a narrative that speaks to both emotion and imagination. Each piece I create is a looking glass memoir into the dreamlike state of my mind, where the natural beauty of my travels to visit family in El Salvador and Guatemala, as well as my adventures across California, come vividly to life."

Pengoo

He has a special interest in public art, transforming communal spaces with vivid colors and characters. Sometimes his creations serve as heartfelt odes to emotions and experiences, while at other times, they simply aim to evoke a chuckle.
